how to make iced coffee

The first thing to do is to brew a pot of fresh coffee using 3 to 4 tablespoons of dark-roasted ground coffee per cup.

It is best if you choose darker-roast coffee blends. That is my experience. But you do need to experiment to find the one you like best.

It is essential that the coffee is stronger than normal shot of espressoas it will water down a bit.

If you would use the normal 1 table spoon of coffee per cup, the taste of iced coffee would be weak.

When the coffee is done, pour it into a glass jug or mug to help it cool down – if you want sugar in the finished drink, add it now whilst the coffee is hot.

Instead of sugar you can add sweetened condensed milk or you can use flavored coffee syrups.

There are many varieties of syrups flavors on the market so you will not have trouble to find one for you.

After your coffee is sweetened you need to cool it down. That is very important. You must not use hot or warm coffee with ice as it will melt the ice and you will get weak and flavorless iced coffee.

To cool your coffee down you need to transfer your coffee to carafe or pitcher or you can pour it into a glass mug. The important thing is that you do not put hot pot directly into the fridge as the pot could crack.

Let the coffee in refrigerator for 2 to 3 hours or leave it outside in the kitchen for the night (4 or 5 hours is OK).

Before we go on you need to crush some ice. (About 4-5 cubes per cup of coffee) You can do that manually in manual ice crusher or you can use an electric blander with blades that can crush ice.

But do not crush it to much as it will water down. Once you have your ice done, fill a tall glass with ice, pour the cooled coffee over and add some milk or cream. Stir the mixture very well to equalize its temperature and enjoy your homemade iced coffee!

or

You can make it extra frothy if you put the milk and crushed ice into liquidizer and blend together with the coffee for 30 - 40 seconds.

After it is ready you must serve it immediately or you need to put it into the refrigerator and shake again before serving. Congratulations! You now know how to make iced coffee at home in no time like a pro.
